Discuss. We were given a king bed recently so we invested in good sheets and then got a cheap comforter and duvet from Ikea until we found what we really want. The duvet is driving me nutso. The blanket part is completely scrunched in the middle and it sucks to make the bed. It was near impossible after surgery. I thought about sewing in button holes and putting buttons to keep it together but I don't know how to sew button holes, and to pay someone I would rather just get a comforter that doesn't require a duvet. And I can't afford what I want so I got one that I can settle in in the meantime. It needed to be machine washable and have some blue so I don't have to change my curtains. I got Martha Stewart ginger jar set grim Macy's. I saw it in store but was alone with the baby and that was just too hard to carry so I ordered it online on the 26 of May. It will FINALLY be here today!!!
Duvet's drive me batty. I always end up with clumps in the corner. I've tried using safety pins to try and help the insert stay in place, but then I feel hard metal pieces when I roll over in bed.
I need to find bedding - ours is plain white and so boring. Off to google what you picked out.
:Y: I like that Ginger Jam is not overly flowery - yet there's some flower going on. I've been looking at graphic type patterns because my husband has commented that a lot of patterns I like are too "girly"
Oh my, I just googled it to see it again and the king is $300 right now. I don't like it anywhere near that much. When I got it was a Memorial Day sale and it was $129 and I had a $20 off of $50 coupon so I paid $112 with tax and shipping surcharge.

Hahaha - I wouldn't pay that either. When it comes to furnishing my house, everything is bought with discount codes and sales. It's why it's taking so long to furnish.
I hate duvets. I thought it was my own human error with the bunching, so annoying. Ive had really good luck finding nice, high quality comforters are Home Goods & Marshall's and never spend more than $100.

I bought a duvet from Walmart years ago and HATED it. I bought my most recent one from Pottery Barn and loved it. It even had ties in the corners to keep it from moving, but I never used them and never had any problems. Although, when its 11:00 at night and you are just pulling the sheets out of the dryer to put on before bed, it SUCKS having to shove the comforter into a duvet.
We just bought a new king sized bed a few months ago and I have been searching for a new comforter set and also debating on duvet or comforter. We bought a thick throw until we can find a set that we like, and it barely fits into the wash. I will be buying a duvet set this time around.
