Ugh I think I am done with this show. Jeremy Jordan's singing is really good but his character is such a f-ing controlling ragey douche. And Karen keeps falling for it and taking his shit treatment of her..

Your not the only one done with it. I saw this article today that it's being moved to Saturdays and this will very likely be the last season. No big surprise there.
I feel like the Karen character and that tough guy wannabe have zero chemistry so I'm not sure why they are trying to make it seem like they should be together. Like you said, he treats her like crap, when she is the one that is starring in a Broadway show and he is trying to make it in the business. His whole "I'll do it myself" attitude is really lame and not realistic at all IMO.
I'm disappointed but probably won't miss it. The first season was great (even with Dev and Frank and Ellis!) but it's so.....blah. Jennifer Hudson is a lovely woman with an amazing voice but she cannot act....at all.
I sad that this show never lived up to its potential. It is a really good idea, but the creators took it in all the wrong directions. The theater world has built in drama, there is no need to add in extra plots and what not.
I actually had a Smash induced dream a couple nights ago. I was starring as Marilyn (of course) and had to choose between which version of the show I wanted to be in. I ended up going with a version that had Jon Hamm playing Joe Dimaggio...my dream Smash is better than real Smash...
I have this whole season on the DVR to watch and just have not felt inspired to do so. I actually liked most of last season...this show had potential but they really screwed it up.
I liked this week. Sean Hayes is funny and I loved his final song, so crazy at it was. Karen is crazy to give up Bombshell but I think working with Tom would be not that great. Derek is a dik but I loved him at the end telling Jimmy off.
Yeah, I both love and hate the show at the same time. I HATE Karen with a passion. She's so stupid, who in their right mind would take Jimmy's controlling, vengeful crap and give up the opportunity if a lifetime for him. She was also a total diva with Tom, she's a nobody and he's a pro and she thinks she knows better than him?
I will Al's say I've realized what I really dislike in this show is that they have stone male characters, but they make the women so weak and spineless. It really bothers me, especially considering what a strong and talented cast they have. I think that's why I've always liked Ivy better than Karen. She at least knew what she wanted and was going for it. Karen just seemed to have everything fall in her lap and was all "oh shucks" about it.
