I'm looking for cute sundresses to wear on weekends (long or short). I looked on Limited's website and everything there screams "office appropriate". I am iffy to buy 90% of Old Navy dresses since I feel like their material is so thin and won't last more than a season.
Where else can I look? Bonus if you can LIP or PIP
I live across from an Outlet so I get all of my dresses there. I love the Loft, BR, Gap, JCrew and Target. BTW, I LOVE your avatar! Doraemon was my favorite cartoon character growing up in Taiwan!

I live in J.Crew beach dresses (not sure if they're called that any more). They're made out of embossed cotton (they used to just call it seersucker) and come in so many colors/styles (halter, shift, strapless).
I wore one to brunch/errands/dog park today, I'll wear one to church tomorrow. If I were still working, I'd throw a cardigan over one on Monday and it would look office-appropriate. They're really well-made (little details like a way to secure your bra strap, full lining, no-slip grip/boning on the strapless versions) and I've only ever had one fall apart on me.
Apparently, they suggest dry cleaning them but I just wash them with Woolite, gentle cycle, hang-dry. I've never paid retail for one, either. They are often on sale at J.Crew.com; I've paid anywhere from $20-50. I've purchased them for even less on eBay. I love them.

I couldn't find "beach dress" on J Crew's website but I typed it in under Ebay- are they strapless?

I've always liked the Beach Dress. They are strapless, but can be dressed up or down with cardigans, shoes, and jewelry. My old boss would wear them for special events at work when the heat was too unbearable for satins, silks, or chiffons. Here it is:
I get most of my sundresses at Anthro. There was a good one at ON a month ago that went on clearance, but doesn't seem to be there anymore. I have this maxi dress and got a ton of compliments wear it under a chambray shirt the other day. It runs big. I'd size down.

Thanks for the recommendations! I normally wear J. Crew skirts (size 4) and J. Crew tops (small). I've never purchased a dress before. Would you recommend a size 4 or 6?

I just bought a really cute weekend casual dress at bloomies, by Aqua. They had some cute ones and price is reasonable imo! Lots of cute ones actually. Check them out.
BTW in reference to your last question I'd recommend a 4.
