Someone here has to be a Survivor watcher, right? C'mon, I'm dying after last nights episode. Someone discuss with me!
I gotta say, I sorta feel bad for enjoying the drama of last night.
I want to like Brandon and to root for him, I feel like he's just a troubled young guy, but damn. He's so volatile. I thought Jeff handled the situation well at the challenge.
Wonder if the crew is bummed that they built that big 'ol challenge and it didn't even get used?
One of the first things I said was 'Man, what a waste of a challenge" lol
Brandon has some definite, serious issues. It's like you can almost see the little angel on one shoulder and the little devil on the other. And volatile is the perfect word to describe him.
I really hope this is the last we see of the Hantz clan. They all need to step back and work on themselves alone, not in front of an audience.
This was one of the most entertaining episodes I've seen in a long time.
Phillip got his ass handed to him and about time - Brandon may be crazy at times but had Phillip dead to rights with what a jackass he is with his condescending attitude and know it all demeanor. I actually clapped when he summed up exactly why Boston Rob took him to the finale in Phillip's first season and it was not because Phillip is some awesome player - he was the perfect goat that BR could beat in his sleep.
I was kind of hoping that Brandon would be allowed to join the Fans side. I have to give him props for telling it like it is.
Maybe he could co-host with Jeff on occasion. LOL.

Yeah, I'm not fan of Phillip for sure. In fact, I thought that Phillip kind of provoked Brandon a little. I mean, I'm not blaming Brandon's issues on Phillip at all, but when Brandon was clearly acting unstable, it really wasn't a great idea for Phillip to go all aggressive with him. (I'm talking when they were still at camp, before they left for the challenge.) A better idea would have been for Phillip to just smile and nod, and try to keep Brandon from exploding.
Although, I suppose the meltdown may have happened eventually.

Absolutely agree with this. Between jackass Russell, his insane brother on Big Brother, who was kicked off headbutting someone, and poor, unstable Brandon it is just not good tv. I don't "love to hate" them, I just don't want to see them anymore.

I feel like Brandon's meltdown has been building since like the first episode of this season. He definitely seems tormented in some way. But I was so glad when he called Phillip out on tons of stuff when they got to the challenge...I was like, heck yes Brandon, you are so right!
That was definitely one of the most intense Survivor episodes ever in 20+ seasons!

Dawn looked like she was two seconds away from having an emotional breakdown herself. Malcolm is probably wondering how he got caught up in such craziness since he only had like two weeks off from playing Survivor before he went back out.

I think Dawn's struggle with the whole thing is her motherly qualities really make her feel for Brandon. She's got like, a dozen kids, and she sees Brandon as a tormented young kid who needs some love. That, and she's an emotional lady in the first place.

Didn't Brandon also have a meltdown in his first season that centered on him "not being fair" to his wife or some such nonsense? They are supposed to have psychiatrists on Survivor. How do nutjobs like Brandon and Phillip make it past the psychiatrists? Sooner or later someone on that show is going to get hurt.
That episode was CRAAAAZY! I was bummed that they didn't get to do the challenge, that's pretty much my reason for watching the show. I'm not a fan of Phillip, but Brandon clearly is unstable. From what we've seen of the Hantz family on tv, I really do wonder about their family dynamic and family history. I mean, they all just seems so intensely angry. It's beyond being a hot head, it's more of a "what the eff happened in your family" situation.
I felt bad for Dawn, because I think she is a caring and nurturing person and it really hurt her to see Brandon so clearly unstable. Oh well, looking forward to next week. I feel like we haven't heard a peep from Malcolm, my little piece of eye candy!
