I finished this weekend too! LOVED IT. Way better than Divergent.
I want to know what Caleb says Tris "Just doesn't understand". What does he know, or is he just evil?
Also, I can't wait to see what happens in the third book! Will we get to see "outside the fence"? Will Tris and the other divergent become the leaders? What is left of the outside world? What happens to the factionless?
I wanted more of Tris and Tobias together. I had my suspicions about Peter possibly helping her out, but I was still surprised when it happened. I think the person I am saddest about is her brother. I hope turns out to be good.

I enjoyed it, but I thought it was too slow at some parts. I also didn't understand the constant conflict between Four and Tris over her "throwing her life away." They had a throwdown over what happened with Jeanine in the alley, and I thought it totally made sense for their group to pursue her if she was there. I thought that fight was OOC.
Caleb is a mystery to me. He ultimately helps Four find the information and play it, but how can you excuse the fact that he allowed his sister to be tortured - what flesh and blood brother would stand by for that?! Even if Peter was hinting that Caleb helped him with the heart machine/paralyzing serum dupe, Caleb's behavior is just inexcusable.
I also read the little video clip about 10 times, and it still confuses me. -First of all, if the whole point was to create a new society that's free from "human nature" inside a fenced Chicago, why is Amity on the outside? -If the founders divided people into factions to begin with in order to amplify the good traits of bravery, selflessness, honesty, etc, then why are they waiting for Divergence to become prevalent? Why not just teach them to be all those traits to begin with? Why not exalt Divergence from the beginning, eliminating the possibility that years later people would be killing them? I wouldn't exactly call 4 out of 100s an abundance of Divergence. -Hasn't the massacre at Abnegation and now attack on Erudite proven that these people are not ready to leave their fence? It's not like they would be spreading good and cheer to the world. -And (not lastly but this list would be too long) how in the world do they expect sheltered, uninformed Divergent, etal to enter ruthless, "human nature"-controlled everywhere else and fix anything, especially since there's seemingly no real instruction of what they're to do or where they're to go -- just open the fence and leave? It makes me laugh in a non-haha way - either they'll be eaten alive by the ruthless killers outside the fence OR there's no one and nothing outside the fence (besides the local Amity).
I liked Divergent better, but Insurgent was good. I'm looking forward to the yet to be named finale. Veronica Roth's blogspot is actually really entertaining, so I've been enjoying reading this and that from her recently about her writings and appearances.
