My RE only does a pre-clomid ultrasound, between CD 3 and 5, to check for cysts. So far, there's been no mid-cycle monitoring. They typically only do mid-cycle monitoring for injectable cycles.
Thanks. I remembered the baseline, but that's all I remembered. My RE does mid-cycle too, I think, because they do an hCG injection too. But, also because they strongly discourage sex if they are lots of follicles. I just don't remember if it's exactly at day 14 that they start or not! I'm sure they'll tell me once I start this cycle anyway, I'm just impatient!

I'd guess that they would start around day 12, but it probably depends on your normal O day. For me, if they waited to check until day 14, I would have likely ovulated on my own already. My guess is that they start monitoring 2-3 days before you expect to O.

That's weird. Everyone I know that's done clomid did a midcycle ultrasound. Otherwise who knows if you really O'd?
I always got one on day 14 or 15 - just depending on when I could get it. Check uterus lining and to see how big the follicle was. If it was good size I got a trigger too.
We did CD 3 s/s to check for cysts and then clomid CD 5-9 then an u/s on CD 13-15 and then progesterone level blood draw 7dpo which is how we knew we needed to up the clomid dose after the 1st round.

I have no idea! I never thought about it until this thread. My RE just said it was standard. I haven't had any known issues with ovulation, had a positive OPK, and temp spike, so I'm pretty sure I ovulated on the day of the IUI. Maybe they'll do more monitoring with a higher dose of clomid, and a few unsuccessful cycles?
