We've driven 7 hours to Santa Fe for a long weekend. So... 7 hours But, everything is really spread out in the West, so you're in for a drive to get anywhere.
4 is about the most I do willingly. My hometown is about 6.5 hours away so I have done that if I have to, but I try to avoid it for just a weekend, or at least take an extra day off or something.

We drove 7 hours each way to see the eclipse last spring. We weren't planning to go so far, but it ended up being necessary to get out from under the cloud cover. We also drove 3 hours in the opposite direction the exact same weekend to see my nephew's production of "Much Ado About Nothing." It was a lot of driving, but I wasn't willing to miss either one!
Two hours. Anything further than that and I will fly. I live right next to the airport, so even if I have to drive an hour once I get to my destination I still come out ahead if I fly on trips longer than 2 hours.
