Sub board - changing settings

I've requested a sub board be created. I just requested it, so I don't know how long it will be before the sub board is up and running.

For those who want to change their settings, here's a few screen shots. Keep in mind, setting changes will be reflected on all boards over here.

At the top of the screen, click on "profile"


Click on "Modify Profile"


Scroll down, and under "Account Preferences"


You have two options in relation to sub boards.
The first "Expand Sub boards" will put all posts into one "bucket", so to speak. Looking at the threads when you open the board there will be no differentiation between whether it was posted on the main board or the sub board.

The second option "Hide Sub Boards" will make it so that the sub boards. You can set this option regardless of whether you expand sub boards or not.

I've been playing around with the settings for a bit this morning, and here's the caveat I should throw out there - although I may be missing something. If you are on the main page when you create a message it will go onto the main board. I know, sounds basic, but it you were to change your settings to "expand sub boards" and "hide sub boards" when you create a post you're automatically on the main board.

My recommendation would probably be to either:
* Expand sub boards AND not hide sub boards (so you have the ability to post on just the sub board if you like)
OR
* Not expand sub boards AND either hide or not. If you choose "no" on the "hide sub boards" then you can check in when you want to, and disregard when you don't. I you choose "yes" on "hide sub boards" it will be like the boards aren't even there.

I just read through this sub board direction thing and in reading the catch part that if you have your setting set in a certain setting (say that 10xs fast) than you may be posting on the main board when you mean to be posting on the sub board. I'm on my phone so it's a pain to play with settings right now. Is there anyone who has sub boards hidden that can see my thread about my GYN appt that was meant to only show up on the sub board? If so I will change my settings.
