I'm in a wedding next weekend. The bride is getting her makeup professionally done, but for me it would be $75.
I'd like to do it myself, but I'm not sure what to do for my eyes. Also, right now I have tinted moisturizer and mineral powder foundation, but I don't know if that's going to provide enough coverage for the day.
I'm not sure what specific products to recommend for eyes. As a bridesmaid, I prefer to stick with pretty simple neutrals, maybe just with a slightly more dramatic touch. If your current TM/mineral powder works well for your skin, I see no reason to change it up. I wore tinted moisturizer for my own wedding.
you can also touch up your makeup if you choose, I always bring a bag of makeup with me when I am in a wedding.
Eyes need to be louder and more emphasized for pictures. I'd absolutely wear more than you usually do for everyday. That being said, neutral colors are best. I used NAKED last time I was in a wedding.
If your skin is fine, I see no need for anything more than TM and powder. You could consider a primer for all day wear, if there is one you lilke.
I feel with that dress you could do a smokey eye (say, with a grey), or you could do the dramatic eyeliner with neautral shadow (if you do this, I'd just make sure to add some emphasis in the crease/outer V as well). Both relatively easy.
Also, make sure things look a little more dramatic than you normally would, or you'll looked washed out in photos. I'd do a bronzer contour, blush, and highlight.
I'm more of a MU newb than anything but I do remember one tip I read back when I did my own makeup for a wedding. Foundations w/SPF in them tend to reflect when hit with a flash and can make your face look washed out/white in pix. So just remember to avoid that and maybe mention it to the other bridesmaids. I never would have known had I not read about it.
