taco-night shopping list?

i'm having people over tomorrow night as a thankyou for helping us move..i want to make a taco bar with *every*thing....what am i missing?

beef, chicken, refried beans
tortilla (soft, crispy)
lettuce
tomato
onions
salsa
cheese
jalapeno
black beans
cilantro
guac
sour cream
olives


what am i missing?

I alwayslove to sqeeze a bit of lime on my tacos, so maybe some lime? Othrwise,I think you about have it covered.

yeah, i figured i would actually do avocado instead of guac (too much effort). i still have a few avocados left from IL's house in california.

and good idea on the lime, ashleyp728.

i'm not a huge fan of rice in my tacos....is this normal/expected in a taco bar? if it is, i'll get some, but i usually don't use it.

and of course we have margarita mix and tequila.

mmm...so i made my own corn salsa last night...i bought a box of mexican rice (it was right next to the tortilla shells, so i figured why not), we had tortilla chips, taco sauce, red salsa, green salsa, and various other hot sauces.

i now have enough tacos for the next week....although i do need more lettuce.

the shredded/cheap/plain cheese i've always been meh about. when i used to be obese (literally), i used to ask for no-cheese on a lot of things.....i've only recently (5ish years ago?) discovered cheese..and that's because i started buying fancy cheeses. *that* kind of cheese makes me said i can't eat...

sour cream i also don't like. so it wasn't too bad....but i *did* buy "mexican sour cream", which i've had before and liked...but still meh about. i had just a little bit of it...didn't make a difference in taste, so i decided not to go overboard and make bjl suffer.

Plain Greek yogurt! Better than sour cream.

it went really well! well..sorta. we had 4 main people (guys) that helped us move...2 with wives, 2 single. i invited all 4, plus the wives to dinner...the 2 single guys did not end up coming. one told us last minute he wasn't coming (he recently started seeing someone, so i don't really blame him), and the other guy just never responded..so i'm a little mad...either way, it was kind of a triple date, and it was fun.

attached is the food. the "annoying" thing is the sun was in the window, and we don't have curtains yet, so the picture quality isn't perfect.
