FML - IVF cycle probably cancelled - updated

Went in today for another supression check (15th day of lupron). Turns out the two tiny cysts I had on Friday are now pretty big and my estradiol on Friday was over 1000 (has to be under 50 for ivf). Fuck.

The nurse asked if I could be pg as seems my body is overriding the lupron but I took a test this morning and -. Plus, why would I suddenly be pg now? what a joke.

The nurse told me I would be cancelled as they can't go ahead with ivf with those levels but the RE came in and said she will see what my bw says today and have me come back in 4 days. Just spent an hour googling and no one has the estradiol levels that I have (all like 250-500) and they all got cancelled. fucking fuckety mcfuckers.

Just waiting for nurse to call today with the news.....

UPDATE - Nurse just called and estradiol levels have halved. RE thinks af is on her way and will sort everything out. Never been so happy to hear those words! <)
I have to go back on Saturday for a status check and see if I can go ahead with ivf or be cancelled but for now, it's looking more optimistic. What a freaking rollercoaster.

I'm so sorry! This is kind of what happened to me when I was starting this cycle. After a week of Lupron, my cyst had actually gotten bigger. I don't know what my estradiol was but I know my hormones were not good. I stopped all the meds and went back five days later and the cyst was gone. I ended up starting stims a few days after that and using Ganirelix to prevent ovulation instead of Lupron. Hopefully you won't have to wait a whole cycle before starting again.

I know how frustrating it is! I hope you get some answers, but it will probably be just more waiting until the cysts are gone.

  Thanks Mae. Right now I will wait weeks if it means I am not cancelled. I was supposed to do ivf in Jan but was cancelled because of cysts and have waited so many months to start already. I wish AF would just come because I feel like that would get rid of the cysts and make everything normal. So after you stopped lupron, you never started it again? And did you get af?

I actually got AF while on Lupron. I started Lupron on a Friday, stopped BC on Monday, got AF on Thursday night, and was supposed to start stims on the Saturday 8 days after starting Lupron. I went in on Friday a week after starting Lupron and was told to stop everything then and just wait. There was no time limit on the waiting- the nurse said my body just needed to restart itself. I went in 5 days later and things were better, went in again 2 days later and things were still "calm" so I started stims. The Ganirelix started a few days later. No more Lupron; I guess the doctor didn't think it was working right for me. 

Were you on BC? That made my cysts pretty much go away before I started the Lupron. Then the one caused me problems after I started the Lupron, and as soon as I stopped it went away. The more I think about it, the more I blame the Lupron for that cyst not going away!

mae141 - I wasn't on bcp. I went for a baseline cd 3 at the end of Feb and everything looked good so I started lupron on cd 21. Now I am on cd 35.

Maybe I should have been on bcp but it was never mentioned as an option. I am pretty sure I didn't ovulate until cd 22 this cycle (so second day of lupron) which would mean af is due today or tomorrow. I have never ovulated so late before (normally cd 11-14) and this is my longest cycle ever.

I am so sorry to read this icedgems! I will keep FX that things improve quickly enough for you to continue on. If you end up cancelling I hope AF rears her head quickly so you can get on with this.

If your doctor is open to suggestions you could possibly mention starting BCP to him/her. It would almost absolutely kill your cysts but I think the reason that they don't do this for everyone though is that it can cause over-supression if you are not a big responder to injects. As always your doctor knows best for your body, but it sucks so much that this has happened to you twice now.

Ok, I made a discovery that E2/estradiol numbers are different in the US and Canada. I was freaking out that my E2 was 1500 when it should be 50 but it looks like it's really 400 and should be 50 in US terms. Small silver lining but at least not as bad as I though.

How do I convert my Canadian Estradiol (E2) numbers to American measurements?
In Canada E2 levels are measured in picomols and in the United States E2 levels are measured in picograms. If you want to compare numbers, here is how to convert them:

Canadian E2 ÷ 3.67 = American E2
American E2 x 3.67 = Canadian E2
