I'm feeling good - just super tired every day (but that's expected - I was anemic at baseline and I lost a lot of blood in surgery). diet changes seem to be working well so far - no abdominal pain as long as I stay away from gluten, fiber, alcohol, caffeine, and milk/cream.
I'm really proud of myself - haven't had a single bite of gluten for 1.5 weeks! (and no coffee, alcohol, milk, or cream since surgery 5.5 weeks ago! I think I miss coffee the most.)
I'm not feeling so great. I have travel anxiety, which makes my stomach upset, and then I have trouble eating, which makes things worse. One day down, two more to go. Also, my hotel room is really nice, but the toilet totally sucks. The flush is just awful. So is the toilet paper. I didn't even think about bringing my own TP with me.
The past two days have the been the best yet for me. Absolutely no pain for the first time in I can't remember how long. I go back to the gastro next Friday and he's going to have to pry those steroids out of my hands!
After posting the other day in the fireworks thread that "no food is worth" feeling bad, I cheated big time and ate a Cadbury Cream Egg. I was only on the 2nd or 3rd bite when I felt my stomach protesting, but I ate the whole thing anyway. Then I proceeded to feel horrific for the rest of the day. Go me!
Can we do non-IBS-related randoms? If so, mine is that I am incredibly proud of and pleasantly surprised by my seemingly conservative or seemingly super-Catholic friends who have changed their FB photos to support gay marriage. I think it is awesome that they are not crunchy liberals to begin with but are able to think reasonably about the issue of gay marriage. Yay!
