h loves the price of 1 but hates the look of it. we won't get a discount on 1 but we can on 2. also, we may get gift cards and or people will potentially buy them from us. he thinks his parents will because they had twins. i am not counting on it, i picked out crib 2, a couple years ago and have loved it since. i budgeted for crib 2.

How much is his discount? ETA: And did you budget for twins???
If w/ the discount they are closer and you can afford it and you like #2 better, get it. If you like them both, I would go w/ #1 to save money b/c babies are expensive, and you're having two.
this. babies are expensive. based on price, i would go with #1, unless you absolutely hate it and cannot stand it. for two babies, that's a $400 difference. you can do a lot with that $400.
Just a note. I know we got a crib that converts to a toddler bed, but most likely we'll be skipping a toddler bed and go straight to a double or twin bed with a pool noodle to keep him from falling out. (If we have a second, the crib will just be reused.) So don't go for a crib simply cause it will eventually convert. It's not worth it.
Same here. I actually don't like how most cribs look converted to toddler beds, so our plan is to go straight to a regular bed after the crib.
I really need to learn how to just finish my post in one go but I keep thinking of things.
You're not very tall are you? I would have major concerns with the first one only having two rise settings honestly. Even with Thor still at the highest rise setting on his crib, it's difficult for me to sometimes transfer him into it when he's sleeping. I have to stand on my tippy toes. It did not seem like it would be as much of a hassle when we bought the crib and 'practiced' in the store.
These cribs are pretty short, shorter than normal cribs. And the first one is shorter than the second.
interesting. the second one looks shorter.
we also are not doing the converting route, exactly.
bjl will move into a twin/my old bed. new baby will get to use bjl's crib...we planned on converting it straight into full, no toddler bed.
and if you buy a crib with intentions to convert, buy the set right away inc case the crib gets discontinued in the future and conversion sets are no longer available.
crib 2 comes with the conversion pieces, and i'll be converting them to toddler beds, even if we don't like the look. then we'll probably do bunk beds, depending on the sexes.
and yes, obviously we had to change our budget and double what our original budget was, so i have already saved for the nursery.
My mom bought a convertible one for her house and is so excited about it. She kept wanting me to get more expensive ones b/c they convert to toddler/daybed/full and it's a better value. I kept telling her no one I know actually does that and I don't expect we will either. She thinks I'm nuts.
i know plenty of people that atleast convert it to toddler and one of my nephews used it until he was like 5.5. lol.
it looks like the 'sparrow' crib! that is the name of the color we're painting the nursery! squee..
i'm sure i'll end up getting the babyletto. my bff and I are looking at them on Saturday, she'll tell me the truth.
and I'll only buy these from target if they go on sale for 300, right now they are 399. 299 at amazon. so my discount will be 10% for the completion discount.
