I voted, but I might change it depending on how you plan to pronounce it. Will it be Ah-mar-i or A-marie?

That was my initial thought, so I keep my vote the same. I lean towards boy, but like Jennuinne, I wouldn't be surprised it it were used for boy or girl.

As spelled I would think it's a girl's name, but I've only heard it as in Amare Stoudemire. So maybe it's someone who liked the name but had a girl?

i think it sounds like a boy name. amara is girl.

I would assume it's a boy, but that's because I have a cousin who married a man of Persian (Iranian) descent, and that's his brother's name.
