How does MFP work, can someone explain it to me like I'm 5? What's the benefit of it? Just a log?
It's a calorie/exercise log. Lots and lots of studies have shown that people who log what they eat lose and keep weight off. The site has a huge database with foods and their calorie counts. Plus the ability to add your own recipes and foods. It also does a lot of math for you, estimating what your basic metabolic rate is, and determining how many calories you would need to eat to lose weight. I found that exercise calories weren't too far off, but I still like my heart rate monitor.
Plus, there's the whole social aspect to it in terms of motivation and help too.

Okay of like Spark?
Yep. Just like Spark. I actually used Spark first, but moved to MFP because it's a lot simpler with less distraction, which works better for me personally.

Cool. I used Spark for a while, I'll give this a try. I'm bonsoirlune on that too, if anyone wants to friend me
