What can be done with a paper lampshade?

I'm using the word paper but it's not actually paper. Sturdier than paper but not fabric. I have a lampshade on a lamp that I love but it's a bit damaged but that's an easy fix. My biggest issue is that it's black and just won't work for me.

Any suggesstions on how to remedy this? I love the size and shape of it but not the color.

Maybe use some spray adhesive and cover it with fabric? If it's a lightweight fabric, it would probably work.

Wrap sisal around it? Like this:

Thanks. That is a nice idea. Part of me wants to wrap it in fabric but I'm not sure how to hide the black interior of the shade.
