The whole show is disturbing to me. Maybe it's because I just can't understand those people...I'm all for saving money and getting deals but, no. Just no.
I have a friend who does this. She's the one who will clear the shelves of Aqua Net and I Can't Believe It's Not Butter and never uses it. Like, seriously, she should be on the show. It's defintiely hoarding and I think it's kind of a problem for a lot of people.

does she have any justifications for why she does this? obviously she'll never use this shit, but why does she say she buys it in the first place? i don't get it. thank goodness this is not my form of addiction.
I don't think she knows why she does it, honestly. And she's always pushing this crap on her friends, like "HERE take this White Rain shampoo! It's FREE!" She is seriously cheap, too. Like notoriously among our group of friends and we all dread having any monetary transactions with her. So I don't know if it's a money thing or a hoarding thing or both. And I'm totally honest with her and tell her this to her face, lol.
I was at Target yesterday, woman ahead of me had massive amounts of coupons. SLOWEST clerk in history of clerking. Scan 1 coupon, slowly move it with one hand to a stack 2 feet away of other coupons that had already been stacked. I'm a multi-tasker, efficiency driven person this was making me crazy. I moved to another register and was done before the clerk was finished scanning. no lie, I could have done them in 25% of the time it took her.
I think they are all frustrated lawyers. Seriously. That's what the law is. Profiting from loopholes. There is already a way to make money from this hobby that doesn't require hoarding.
Also that show is very staged. Most stores have limits thus the reason some people have to make multiple trips.
Kroger is 10 like coupons here in some areas its 5.
The producers of this show make sure there are no restrictions or hassles during filming. It is possible to do though. A lot of what they buy is stupid.
I did get a bunch of makeup free last week. Not stuff I use but my grandmother was tickled pink about receiving it.
I did see one episode where a young guy was couponing but he was donating all of it. When someone does that, I'm all for it but just to stock stuff you don't use, won't use in your lifetime really bugs me. I work with woman who is sort of an extreme couponer but she does limit it to things they actually use. She has 5 kids from 9 to 18 at home so they do use a lot of shampoos, toothpaste, deoderant, things like that. She's gotten another woman at work started on it, she told me she will never have to buy toothbrushes or any of that other stuff again, she manages her coupons to get it all free. She had 2 little kids at home.
I think I'm a normal couponer, if I have them I use them but I don't plot to get triple value or anything. The best I've ever saved in one trip was $48 off the total bill of about $146 dollars.
