because I do not want a "Mothers Ring" due to the ugly birthstone combos they have.
Now, no one will know I have 2 kids and how much I love them!
I am kidding on the love part. I do sort of want one, but really Aug and June stones are ugly together. Oh well. I should just get one with my birthstone since I love me so much
The best part is that I really do not even wear jewelry. I just get this bug up my butt every year around Mother's Day that I NEED one of these things, then it fades.

I wear my birthstone all the time. I have some nice pieces with it. I don't think you would know it was a birthstone (or my birthstone) if I didn't say anything or you didn't know my birthday and my birthstone.
I totally forgot about those! I think they used to be advertised in one of the mailers sent to us in either a) readers digest or b) the enquirer (don't hate)

Yeah mine is not a popular stone or a super pretty color, it screams birthstone. Lol
Well then that sucks. Mine is pretty. My kids have nice ones too, but they look ridiculous together. I have antique pieces from my great-grandmother that has my daughter's stone in it that I wear now and will give to her when she is responsible (or I die because I really like them, lol).

I sold quite a few family rings the season I worked at the diamond store. One I had never heard if was a daughters ring it has her and her parents stones.
I was excited to not have my baby early in march and kept telling people I wanted a diamond baby! My birth month is August and peridot is exactly beautiful
I was made for diamonds or sapphires, but alas. I too am a garnet. I have a garnet birthstone ring, from the 80's. When I have kids I don't really care what their birthstones are, diamonds and sapphires will work as a mother's ring.

I am with you. All the women in my family have mothers rings and I can't stand the color combinations. All my kids were born in November. Im happy to take the pee Colered citrine gem, because atleast it doesn't have to be paired with any clashing colors.
H bought me a mother's ring one Christmas. I have worn it exactly twice. None of the stones go well together and there are four of them...it just looks a mess. I finally put it on a necklace and throw that on every once in awhile.
My and my sister are diamonds, my brothers was yellow. it was so ugly. Both my kids are diamonds so I am cool with a diamond ring. And leo will be an emerald. Love the green and diamond combo

My parents gave me one of those rings when I graduated high school. I actually love it, even with my ugly peridot cluttering it up
If you really want a special ring for mother's day, why not pick out a ring that you really like and think you will wear and then have their names and birth dates inscribed along the interior of the band?

Ditto. I don't wear any garnet, but my wedding ring is diamond and sapphire.
