Background: I used to take a low dose AD for headaches, and when my last PCP started experimenting with anti-anxiety meds they had me stop taking them. I haven't taken them for at least six months.
Now: My headaches weren't a big deal for months, but now they're back with a vengeance. Daily for the last couple of weeks and just awful. I want to go back on the AD ASAP because it takes a couple of weeks to make a difference, but I have a new PCP and I've only seen her once. They have all of my records from my previous PCP, and I want to call and ask if they can just call me in a new prescription but I don't know if that would seem really weird and borderline drug seeking, since I've only seen her once. I don't want to accidentally raise any red flags for them, because I've been accused of faking symptoms before (Doctors have assumed I'm covering up an ED, etc).
I just started my new job so there is no way I could get away to go in for an appointment for two weeks. Should I just call and make an appointment for my next day off, or would it possibly work to ask for a prescription over the phone?
I'd make an appointment. I used to take nortriptyline for headaches and I took them with an AD.
That's what I was taking. It's good to know that it can be taken with ADs. I'm not taking anything right now, but it's definitely good to know for the future.

Maybe try calling and asking them for a refill, since it is a prescription you've had before. Or enough for 2 weeks, until you can get in for an appointment. I have no idea if your doctor will give them to you since he/she wasn't the original prescriber.
