WTH is this?

Is it connected to the a/c? We have a drip pipe (that leads outside, not in the shower) and if it drips it means something's up with the unit.

Hmm, probably the overflow pipe for toxic waste.

Our home inspector told us that they put the pipe in a place where you will notice (ours would drip past our windows). I bet your builders were high and thought, they'll never miss it here!

oh and yes, there is probably something wrong. it's overflow so there might be a clog or something elsewhere.

It might just be the emergency drainage pipe.  Our unit has two.  One goes someplace I don't know of.  If that gets plugged up the water goes into the emergency pipe.

Is your AC blower up there? If so, we had the same problem when we started running the air in our new home. Your condensation line is clogged. It is a very easy fix but make sure you turn off your air until someone comes to unclog it or it will turn into a much bigger issue.

Damn it, our lease is through December

We will request it is fixed and if they won't we will tell them to let us move to another unit in the complex. I am not putting up with a broken ac unit that raises my electric bill AND stops me from taking a bath.

i wish you good luck, but be prepared for them to do nothing. we had these in most of our apartments in tx and they always dripped and were annoying as shit, and the maintenance always said they couldn't do anything. 

one of them dripped pink sludge too (like, the kind that will grow on your shower curtain in humid conditions, the pink mildew). it was fucking disgusting.
