When I was pregnant I ended up with carpel tunnel - it went away a week after I had Emily, but came back when I went back to work two months ago and has gotten worse. Any tips on how to make things feel better? I'm thinking of getting wrist braces to wear at night, does this work? Should I go see a specialist - what kind?
It's starting to effect my work. I work early in the morning when it's the worst. I also use very sharp knives and it's difficult to hold a knife/cut at times so it's causing a danger issue.
ETA: This is a post and dash. I'm on my way to bed and wanted to post before I went to bed. Been up since 3am and have to work at 6am. Poop. Will check back in the morning.

My mom had carpel tunnel and ended up having the surgery. She did/does wear braces at night and it helped. She also wore them at work. I'm not sure how you would do that working with knives, but it could probably be done as long as you wear gloves/keep them sanitary.

I originally started having carpal tunnel issues when I was pregnant with my second. It went away a few months after she was born, but flared occasionally. It got worse when I was pregnant with number 3 and the pain/numbness has been pretty constant since. She's 15 months old now.
I wear braces at night and when I need to during the day. It does seem to help a bit, but not entirely. My mom had the surgery 7 years ago in both hands and hasn't had any problems since. I am considering having it done as well.
