I EBF and DD got a pacifier her first day in the hospital and we never had any issues. I would have gone insane without it.

You may have to try a couple of different types but I say go for it.

Do it! DD loved the Soothie pacifiers. I couldn't get DS to take a damn paci to save my life or nipples in this case. Lol. It was so nice having another option besides me when DD was new. We started both kids on them in the hospital (well tried to with DS) and had no bfing problems at all.

We do soothers and have no problems BFing. He likes the avent ones best.

Give the paci! I really think the whole "nipple confusion" thing is a myth. The baby knows there isn't milk coming out of a paci.

Another parent who used pacifiers -- first day home from the hospital. They both had latch issues anyway but that was fixed with a shield and practice.

Do it. Comfort nursing is great if people can do it but holy god in heaven it killed me. The pacifiers were amazing even though I hated them and were glad they were done with them at 5m.

I used pacifiers since day 1 and am still BFing at almost 14 months.
