Netflix recs, please! And Dr Who watchers.

I am looking for a new series to pick up for the summertime. H travels a lot for work so I usually end up watching TV after DS is in bed.

I tried the first episode and a half of Dr Who and just couldn't get in to it. Does it get any better? I don't hate it or anything, but I thought it was boring.

I made the mistake of starting Mad Men with DH so now I can only watch it when he's around.

What's another series I can start?

which dr. who season did you start? the 2010 or 11 revamp with Matt Smith? I was hooked with that first episode. that said, plenty of other people prefer earlier seasons and actors but I couldn't get into it.

I have found a lot of the korean dramas to be addictive LOL.

Which Doctor Who did you start with? I'd start with the 9th doctor, Chris Eccleston, and go from there.

This was the original with Billie Piper that aired in 05 (I think). I'll try the newer version!

Ah, that's the 9th doctor. I think that it gets better a few episodes in. The ones with David Tennant are really good and it helps (IMHO) to watch the first season first.

I was a little "meh" when the Doctor Who revamp started. If I had nothing better to do I'd watch it, but it wasn't one of the "don't you dare watch without me!" shows. It gets AWESOME. What are other series you like? We do a "catch-up" series every summer, where we just pound in a whole series in like a few weeks. We've done it with HIMYM, Big Bang Theory, Modern Family, and Breaking Bad. Breaking Bad is awesome and addictive. I've heard good things about Deadwood and Justified also. Homicide: Life on the Street is a great older show. For comedy, the British Coupling and The Office shows are great. Sherlock, Downton Abbey, and Luther are also really good BBC shows. Um, can you tell we are t.v. addicts?

Seriously, keep watching Doctor Who. I started with the 9th Doctor, too, and at first I was like, "Why the hell am I watching this?". But trust me, it gets awesome. I loved David Tennant (10) and Matt Smith (11) is just perfection.

Breaking Bad, White Collar, Glee, and Weeds are some of my favorites. I know my taste are all over the place.

The new Sherlock series is next on my list, The Wire (if you haven't already seen it), Sons of Anarchy (this was H and my obsession last summer).

White Collar is a great suggestion. The show is good, funny, and Matt Bomer is so hot he should be on fire.

I second/third these, as well as pp's Sherlock rec. Seriously, Sherlock is one of my most favorite shows I've seen recently (I like it better than Downton Abbey...gasp).

Justified is a lot of fun. We're in season 4 of The Wire, and I love it. Breaking Bad is amazing.
