Hi, I usually lurk on this board (on TN) but I'm working on replacing my crusty old make-up. I need a recommendation for a good eyeshadow palette. I have a friend that raves about the naked palettes but I don't want to go off just one opinion. I'm on the more pale side and I like natural or smokey colors. TIA.
Everyone pretty much loves the Naked Palette for the most part. The quality is definitely good, so if you like the colors, I would go for it. Go-Dawgs recently got a palette from The Balm that also has some good colors, and has a bit more variation. Go to the "beating a dead horse" thread for more info on that.
I bought both naked palettes recently. I like the first one more than the second. On my sephora list I have couple palettes by Two Faced saved. My sister has the Lorac Unzipped palette and likes it a lot.
Whenever I'm looking for new stuff I google swatches to find blogs with reviews-- I find it really helpful to see if the colors look like they will work for me.

Another recommendation for the naked palette!! I love it. Also, I've found that getting an eyeshadow primer will help make any eyeshadow go a long way. With the naked palette, the primer helps keep the glittery shades from creating fallout on your cheeks.

I still go back to my Mac palette with neutrals.... I chose the shades myself. A mac artist can help you pick out complimentary colors. I like Mac better than the naked palette, what can I say?!

I loved the colors of the original Naked palette, but I seemed to be the rare user who was allergic and experienced burning eyes with it. I now have Lorac unzipped and love the colors and don't have allergy issues with Lorac. If you're sensitive, Lorac is a good neutral palette option.
I have the two faced natural eyes palette and am happy with it. It's also good for beginner type users due to the colors being grouped and the instruction cards.

I have the Too Faced Naked Eye and love it. I agree that the instruction cards are very helpful for beginners.
My derm recommended the CeraVe spf30 but it made my face too greasy for me.
Then, someone on this board recommended an oil-control moisturizer from Cetaphil (purple top, it is called DermControl Moisturizer) and it has been working out great. Even my DH uses it. It also has spf30, and only $14.
