Story about me turning into my mother

My mom has a reputation for not only being a strict/mean parent, but she also carries this rep with her neices and nephews.

This weekend at church, I'm sitting in a pew with my kids, and my sister's and cousin's families.  Kids can't receive communion, but they can go up in line with everyone and the priest will bless them.  He will know they just need a blessing if they cross their arms on their chest.

We were in the front row (b/c it was my nephew's first communion) so we didn't have much time to get it together and go up in line.  I was basically grabbing kids left and right and jerking them in line.  "you! here! cross your arms. Go. next!"  Apparently I was only one step away from just grabbing stranger's kids and laying down the law.

My cousins and Aunt were dying about how I was such a no nonsense asshole, just like my mom.  lol

LOL! Its a good quality to have.

My mom will say I'm exactly like her all the damn time. It drives me nuts. She always takes credit for the things I do. She always says "that's because I raised you right" Oh fuck off.

I think on some level we pretty much have to become our parents if they were decent at raising us. I have 110% become my dad in parenting, but that is because I apparently married my mom without knowing it. LOL
