Has anyone tried it? Does it work? How long before bed time should I drink it?
I've only had the usual caffeinated lipton tea bags and green tea so I'm kinda uninformed when it comes to trying different teas. So any information would be appreciated.
It knocked me out last time I drank it. But that could have been because I took some cold medicine right after drinking it. But it worked and I slept hard that night.
Oh, and I just read what the box said. I think I let it seep for 15 minutes and drank it about an hour before bed. It's very, very mild. It didn't knock me out, it just help me fall asleep.
I drink Sleepytime Tea Extra, and it works pretty well sometimes, I think! Like Tamb, I have a lot of anxiety-driven insomnia, so sometimes when it's extra bad, nothing helps at all!
It's pretty relaxing, but that might be more due to the ritual of a before bed cup of tea than the actual ingredients. I do like the sinus soother one- it's pretty minty and clears me up a bit so I breathe easier when I do go to bed.
I like it. It doesn't make me sleepy though. I refuse to go to prescription sleeping pills, so I am using melatonin and Benadryl. I do have some phenergan for when I am desperate, but that leaves me groggy. Did you know you could buy 600 Benadryl tablets at costco for 4.49? I am stocked up for years.

I love Sleepytime tea, and I drink lots of it. Like others, I find the flavors and ritual calming and relaxing, which certainly can help with sleep. But when I need a drug to help me sleep, I take benedryl.
If you currently drink a caffeinated beverage in the evening, it should help a lot with your sleep to replace it with Sleepytime, simply by eliminating the caffeine.

I never knew that Sleepytime was actually supposed to help you sleep. I thought it was just called that because it was non-caffeinated and soothing, not because they claimed it was an actual sleep agent.
