I do have a lot of gas. Unfortunately, a lot of is trapped, though lately there has been more passing gas. I had a colonoscopy done and they said I had a tortuous colon (basically it's very very curvy). The first thing the dr. said when I woke up was that I had a lot of air trapped in my colon. If I watch my diet and eat reasonably well it's okay. If I don't, I get a lot more gassy. He said I could take IBS drugs, but I declined.
I'm pretty gassy on the regular. Usually I can hold it in at work and if not I go to the bathroom. At home I let it rip. It annoys H quite a bit but oh well.
DH and I are both very gassy people. We are definitley not "oh, I would never pass gas in front of my spouse" type people.
I notice that I get horribly gassy when I eat anything that is fried or eat too many raw veggies. Like pains in my guts gassy.
Since I am working the WW diet plan which involves lots of veggies right now, I am trying to live with the pain and the noise. Luckily there isn't much smell. I do spend alot of time with my office door closed.
You might want to google SIBO - Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth. It's hard to test for it, but a lot of the time antibiotics help. I got really bad gas after a random bout of diarrhea in December (which NEVER happens to me). I was already taking probiotics and switching to a different kind didn't help. I finally took a round of metronidazole and it's been fine since. I don't know for sure that's what I had, but the antibiotics seem to have fixed whatever it was.
