Hi ladies I could really use your opinions on this. I've seen here a lot of ladies recommend the RnP for their LOs. H and I are starting to put together ideas of what we need for our registry and I suggest the RnP but he wants to get a bassinet for the baby to sleep in in our room for the first few weeks/months. I think the bassinet is a waste of money because so many moms have said their baby sleeps best in the RnP.
So my question is..did your baby sleep in the crib, bassinet, rnp, or pack and play? and what do you recommend? TIA!
We didn't have a RnP with DS (they weren't out when he was born) and I had a bassinet, which I barely used.
With my youngest, the RnP's had just come out and we used that thing for 6 months. She rarely slept in her crib during that time and we didn't have any trouble transitioning her.
I recommend the RnP.
ETA: I also like the portability of the RnP. Not only was it easy to move around the house, we also took it with us on a weekend trip. It folded up nicely in the car and fit perfectly in our hotel room.

rnp. We had a bassinet for the other 2 kids, but they rnp wasn't around yet. We never used a bassinet with the 3rd child. RNP was great. There was a recall on it you might hear about but my understanding was that people were letting their child wet through the whole thing and it got filthy and moldy. You can't recall stupid.
The RNP RULES. I loved mine SO much (DD is almost 3 now). You could take it with you to put baby in if you were traveling. Plus it puts them at a good angle (great for babies with reflux issues). DD slept in a pnp in our room for about 2 seconds-she preferred the RNP or her swing. I can't recommend it enough-there are so many good things about the RNPs.
Just make sure you clean it, like a normal person. lol.

We didn't have a RnP, but DS would not sleep in his bassinet so we ended up bed sharing. If we are able to financially swing having another kid, I will be getting a RnP.
RNP is useful because it can function as both a bassinet and a seat to be used throughout the house. Its lightweight and mobile, plus there's the whole incline thing that makes them more comfortable.
Andy hated the cosleeper and pack n play--too hard, too uncomfortable apparently. We went straight from the RNP to the crib at around 4 months.
I never had a rocknplay and used a loaned bassinet for them both to sleep in for a few weeks. I eventually just let them sleep in the swings (turned off) since that's where they were most comfortable. I'm sure that's flameful to some people but it was great for us. I think since they were so tiny the crib made them feel more secure since it was puffier st the sides.
I would marry my rnp if I could. We didn't have a bassinet. RNP by my bed. If he would have for some strange reason wanted to sleep in a bassinet I could have borrowed a cosleeper, but in my experience babies love being all snuggled up in the beginning in something like an rnp.
Our transition was very easy around 4 1/2 months to the crib.
With my oldest son the rnp wasn't out yet. He slept in his carseat for 2 months. That isn't the safest thing so I was glad a product was made that mimiced the upward sitting but was also safe to sleep in.
I didn't have a RNP. They weren't out with my oldest. They were with my youngest but I didn't want to spend the money on it. BUT if I had to buy new baby stuff I would probably get one. I just didn't need it.
Both girls slept in the newborn napper in the pack n play for the first month or two by my bed. They then went to the bassinet part and then to the crib.

Neither girl slept in our room. We're "those" parents.
DD1 slept in her crib from the first night home.
We tried DD2 in her crib but she was not having it. Then she got diagnosed with reflux and we got the RNP. She slept in that in her room for about 4 months then transitioned to her crib. I LOVE the RNP. I gave it to a friend of mine and she also loves it for her son.

We did a crib from the start with both girls. This worked for us though because our rooms were all right by each other. Like, steps apart. If they were more spread out (and it took more energy to get to the nursery) I probably wouldn't have done that.
I would get the RnP because you will get so much more use out of it than the bassinet, imo.

I had/have a good sleeper so she was fine sleeping flat. We had a wooden cradle/bassinet type thing that was basically a tiny crib. She did fine in it, but I disliked it because it hurt my back to pick her up from it while I was still laying in bed. Next time I'd get an arms reach co sleeper.
I did not use a RnP. We had a pack'n'play with the bassinet attachment next to our bed for the first 3 months. Then we moved her to her crib in her own room.
I have friends who loved the RnP. It's perfect for some people, but we just didn't need it.
Every kid is different. The RNP didn't exist when DS1 was a baby but I thought it would have been perfect for him so I bought it in expectation of DS2. He preferred to sleep flat on his back in a bassinet. DD wouldn't have anything to do with the bassinet so she slept in the RNP. The annoying thing is that there is no way to know ahead of time what they will like.
