This month last year, I was about to have a hysteroscopy following a miscarriage to remove fibroids. This surgery was supposed to resolve my issues and avoid future miscarriages. Hahahahahaa, no.
I just came back my incompetent RE, where I pretty much diagnosed myself as possibly having endo. Now I have to go to another specialist to discuss having a lap and possibly removing one remaining large fibroid that wasn't supposed to be an issue and wasn't necessary to remove last year. This same RE who, months ago, did a SHS and told me that the fibroid wasn't an issue, the uterine cavity is clear, I didn't have to worry. Suffice to say, I'm done dealing with her and will find a new RE.
I'm just so sick of this shit. I've basically wasted an entire year only to end up in the exact same place I was a year ago - no answers, no baby, and putting off TTC even longer for a potential additional surgery. I've gotten to the point where I don't even care if I have a baby any more, it doesn't seem worth it.
Vent over. I just had to put this out there into space b/c DH and my mom are overloaded, I imagine.
I'm sorry. I wasted almost a year with an incompetent RE. I should have realized it when all he talked about was my going to his wife's spa. I don't know if I'm giving bad comments or not, but now you can find a better Dr. You deserve that. Move forward soon; take a break; whatever you need to do. Do what is right for you. (((hugs))))
If it makes you feel any better, I had a lap last year and was pretty much recovered in a week. It was annoying at the time but as a whole not a tremendous amount of recovery and time out of commission. And its nice to get the endo out! Glad you're dumping that RE, she sounds incompetent!
Thanks starflower. Were you able to work during that week off? I just started a new job and can't really be out of commission for that entire time. I was hoping I could do a Friday surgery and be back in the office on Monday...
I'm so sorry you're going through this genet. IF sucks so bad and the feeling of wasting/ losing time is awful. FWIW, I also had a lap with general anesthesia and I recovered very quickly. I was up and walking around the next day.
genet313, I had a lap last year too. I had it on a Tuesday and went back to work on the following monday, but I was on spring break so it worked out. A week later I was still moving very slowly and tired but the pain was manageable. I was popping pain pills and sleeping most of the day for the first 4 days or so after surgery.
Do you have a desk job? I think you might be ok going back to work after 4 days if you don't have to move around a lot. I agree with starflower about trying to have the lap on Wed. afternoon or early Thurs. morning.
