Are they at least good knives? Mind if I ask the brand?

I've never heard of a knife block coming 1/2 empty either. That's just stupid. They should at least say in the description that it only comes 1/2 full before you use your points!

I spent a butt ton on my chef knife - but I also use it 5 days a week at work. It was also a birthday and christmas present. And we used part of our tax refund to purchase it, I had a hard time spending them money.

At least you used points though!

Henckels are pretty good. I was hoping it was Shun, now those babies are amazing!

My chef knife that I use for work is a Shun. It is amazing. I now want the whole set...but...my bank account does NOT want the whole set. I was also hoping it was a Shun set! Even the box Shun's come in is pretty. 

Henckels are pretty good, like goaskalice mentioned. I think they're great for at home general use. If you were chopping 50lbs of onions everyday, probably not!  I think I have a Henckel paring knife. Or I did. I tend to loose paring knives.
