Soon. Like the original poster - we're changing from a lesser to a more well known name.
We have the same owners, just a new brand name. It also means a lot of renovations which will directly effect me - possibly causing a month off work.... *sigh* I so need a new job...
Yep. Fortune 500. But meh, can't wait to get out if there and into non-profit work. There are some great perks - lots if discounts on insurance, phones ect, and I am sure it is awesome if you like the work.
I work for an internationally known not-for-profit. We are the world's largest at what we do and many of you have used our services but have no idea of the name of the organization behind what you are using.
Nope. My company is a tech trade news website, so we're decently well known within our industry but not a national name, for sure. More niche and less consumer-oriented than something like Gizmodo or CNet.
I am really surprised by how many people answered yes. Of all of my group of friends I think maybe one works at a company that is nationally known and even the one I can think of may just be industry specific. I have never worked at a big nationally known company.

Yes, wait, kind of.
I'm a consultant for a little known consulting company. However the company I'm consulting with (that I worked for as an employee for 5 years) is an international retail pharmacy chain.
I am now a SAHM but I've worked for several nationally known companies, in HR. And I'm not worried about sharing so for those who are curious, I worked at Motorola during summers in college (my mom has been there 25 years-nepotism at it's finest LOL), then at Pepsi and Hewitt (now Aon Hewitt) after college. I'm guessing not everyone has heard of Hewitt even though it's global and employs well over 20,000 people.
