I mentioned in yesterday's random thread that DH was applying for jobs in Michigan to move close to my stepdaughters and was getting some interest and some activity going on.
This morning I get an email that's essentially "Congratulations! You have passed Phase II of the hiring process and are now eligible to interview for DREAM JOB". My application has been pending for over a year now. They interview based on location preferences (nationwide opportunities) and I listed Detroit as my #1 choice and then our current place as #2 choice. Hopefully if the Detroit location wants me. If hometown office wants me that will suuuuck.
I'm pretty sure I would have to give up my dream job
Is this a fed job? I am just guessing based on knowing where you are now and that wait time lol. If it is and they want you soon and local to where you are now (which are a lot of ifs) is it possible for your DH to put off the relocation? I know that may be asking too much with SDs but if it is a fed job I know it is a lot easier to get in and then try for a relocation because getting in is the hardest part.

He has been trying to move back for YEARS. They are 10 & 11, he's been trying since he got out of the military 6 years ago but the job market has been crappy. They are growing up and I don't think I could justify asking him to wait a few more years. I would feel guilty that I was the cause of him missing even MORE time with them.
I totally get that. I will keep my fingers crossed that you get the job and it is in Detroit. Even though I just found out that we are basically the same person and close together now.
