young-ish people dying? (sorry to be morbid today)

do you know any 20somethings or younger that have died? how/why? not SIDS.

i don't know any of these people personally....

and old friend of mine had a cousin die...i think it was cancer. i'm not sure. she was about 12.

someone who went to my HS died...he got meningitis while on vacation.

another person who i went to HS died...she had a severe asthma attack and died in the ER.

1985 or 1986-ish, h has a cousin that died at 2 days old. he never met her.

h also has a cousin that at 19, "fell out of a window". family suspects he was pushed, but it was ruled an accident.

that's about it.

we had a friend of the family who was about 14 shoot and kill himself in head on his parents bed.

i know some one from hs who also died of meningitis. some one from hs who at a swim meet had a heart attack and died. another overweight person had a heart attack and died. another person killed themselves, maybe 16 at the time.

another person i know was hit by a drunk driver. actually i know 3.

i knew all of these people personally. i know others but i'm drawing a blank. so crazy. i would consider me when i was little as LOW income. we were on welfare for sure, if that helps your survey.

let me elaborate, i lived with my mom until 11, we were on welfare. my dad wasn't.

oh, also, recently a friend brought his son to the hospital for the flu, he never came home. 2 weeks ago.

another person (SUPER LOW INCOME AND DRUGS) wasn't watching their daughter and she drown in a pool.

A girl in the grade below me in junior high died suddenly of meningitis. She was 14.

A couple people in my high school died, I think all in drunk driving accidents (they were drunk).

Another junior high and high school classmate committed suicide his senior year of college. He wasn't going to graduate but hadn't told his parents, who came out for his graduation weekend. I can't imagine what was going on in his head, but he did come from a high-pressure family.

I know there are more, but those are the ones I can think of. kwpnjumper55 might actually know one or two of these.

One of my ultimate Frisbee team mates died of an aneurysm a few years after college. He was in South Africa (i think?), there is a good chance he would have archives if it had happened somewhere with good medical care.

The woman who was the other sysadmin for the computer science department died in a car crash in the middle of no where Nevada a couple of years after college.

A girl i was in a high school orchestra with died in a plane crash before her senior year.

Someone in high school was electrocuted.

My junior year English teacher died of a brain aneurism, I think she was 29.

Someone I went to elementary through high school with died in a car crash recently. He was the only person involved and I think he was drunk.

one or two other people I went to HS with have died since we graduated, but I didn't really know them.

A good friend of mine died of cancer just after college.  I don't know anyone else young who died.

There were numerous people that died in my highschool - most car accident related. The worst was in middle school when one kid in my class was hanging on to the back of a car and sliding along on the snow. He let go, slid out into traffic, and was hit by an oncoming car. Also had several suicides, an aneurysm, and a drowning.

Oh one more, a kid from the neighborhood i grew up in died of a drug overdose. I think it was heroin. He was a year or two younger than me, i was about twenty five at the time.

ETA uh, in case you are still curious about class issues -- the OD & aneurysm were upper class (basically I consider anyone who can send their kids to private school or private college w/o the kids taking out SLs upper class); the girl in the car crash was I think middle class; the girl in the plane crash was middle class. I think her parents were first-generation Americans, or maybe she immigrated at a very early age.

I had a rally good friend of mine die when I was around 19 and he was 20. He was in a car accident with another guy I actually went to school with and they both burned in the truck along with the guy they hit who I also knew. Even worse was it was right next to my parents house.

a girl i was on summer swim team with died in a cliff diving accident at age nineteen. Upper middle class again.
