This happened one winter with a male cardinal. I was in high school so it was like 10 or 15 years ago. Except he would just fly into the windows full speed. It went on for a week or so and I think he finally met his maker. My mom tried to scare him off a few times but nothing really worked. We just kind of figured he was a few cards short of a deck. If it makes you feel better he never went after us.
My FIL had this little bird that would follow him around the yard. I guess he started to get creeped out, so he threw a rock at it and somehow managed to hit the bird directly on top of his little bird head. The bird flew off, but FIL found him dead right outside his front door about a day later. Isn't that sad?

I'm thinking that she is seeing her reflection in the window and thinks it's another bird since we took our screens out for the winter.
