My brother is a dispatcher, volunteer fire capt, and sometimes picks up shifts as an EMT. He has a lot of stories.
He and I were just FB chatting on my lunch and said he was having an interesting day. His best tale of the morning:
A lady watches her truck get stolen. Calls 911, then her husband. Husband decides to come home. On his way from work, he passes his own vehicle. So he decides to ram it head on. At 50 mph. In my brother's words: "WTF. Who does that? Now you're injured and destroyed your own car"
As someone who passed by her own care driving away (two years ago), you don't really think in the moment. DH and I left out kids on the side of the parking lot and ran towards the car, which was running. DH jumped in front and slammed the hood with his arms. The guy stopped, got away and ran away. DH chased him and then let him go and came back.
WE GOT OUR CAR. Who cares if we could have gotten killed in the process? lol
