Intro with a question

Hi ladies,

I'm Jaimie, mostly a poster on the old F&B and now on S&B here. I didn't know this board existed until 20 mins ago when I asked a question on S&B that would be more appropriate for this board.

I'm trying to figure out if it is worth it to open an Etsy shop. I make stretch bracelets, cross bracelets, love, and infinity bracelets along with some other random designs. I've done well selling outside of Etsy the last few weeks. I started making them because they were sooo expensive on Etsy and I figured if I can make the same thing for less and other ladies are looking for them it could turn out to be a great hobby. I'm hesitant because of the Etsy and Paypal fees. Do you ladies have any insight for me on opening a shop?

Where's Steph?

Etsy takes a LOT of work. Listing daily, taking great pictures, etc. There's nothing wrong with giving it a shot, but it's not just a "list it and walk away" sort of thing. People can have success there, but it takes effort.

I do craft shows locally and also sell through FB. We do paypal for people not local and then ship stuff to them. Still effort, but not like a full-time job to post to etsy.
