Ugh, I'm sorry that happened. That sounds so scary but good for you for staying calm and doing what you needed to do to help your baby. Hugs to you and her!
I was a nanny for a little guy once who had some serious issues with gagging and choking on even pureed food. Damn near gave me a heart attack every freaking day.

CPR is so important.
I had my son at 19. He was a few months old when I was out to eat with friends and a little boy (maybe 2 or 3yrs) started choking. His M was across the restaurant and her friend sitting with him was completely useless. "He's choking. He's choking" as she just stared at him. I jumped up without thinking ran over and did some sort of half ass Heimlich. I got the food out and he seemed to be ok but I was TRAUMATIZED. I boo-hoo'd like a damn baby. New Mom pregnancy hormones didn't help.
It wasn't until after that I found out that you shouldn't do Heimlich on someone that small. Thankfully he seemed ok and I didn't like crack a rib or something.
I was so paranoid after the fact though so I feel for you. Glad your little one is ok.
I choked on a grape when I was 2 or 3. My mom grabbed me, and it startled me enough that the grape flew out. I still vaguely remember it. I always wondered if that is why I have a such a fear of choking. Like, I have a legitimate phobia that has impacted my life.
I choked on a hot dog at the age of 5. It was like an out of body experience seeing my Mom hold me from behind over the sink and 25 years later I remember it vividly.

I don't let my kids eat grapes. Ever since I heard a story about a 6 year old who choked on a grape and they could do nothing about it. I'm so freaked out about choking and my youngest seems to gag on everything. Gives me a panic attack every time he eats.
So scary! My guy choked a few times but nothing that scary. I had to cut grapes into 4 or 5 pieces and then only put one piece on his tray at a time for the longest time. Hang in there!
good job. I remember being super worried about this too. I also have a vivid childhood memory of choking on a piece of ice and my family had no idea what was going on, but after a bit it melted and moved and then I was like OMG family I was CHOKING TO DEATH!
I choked on a piece of spare rib when I was 4(?). I remember choking, and I remember trying to get my mom's attention. But she was talking to someone and gave me the adults-are-talking-finger without looking at me. I pounded on the table and got her to turn around. But then I don't have any memory of her actually helping me (obviously she did, lol). I remember my grandpa asking me later if I wanted any more spare ribs.
