gosh I'm SO sporadic with my good morning posts! Now & then I remember to do it (as the ladies in this part of the world are usually 'first on' the board in the mornings)
QOTD: what's the most recent movie you saw (at home or the theatre) was it good?

Good morning! Well, afternoon. Just cleaned my kitchen after roasting a chicken. I need cooked chicken for a recipe tomorrow and Sunday and since tonight is garbage night, I wanted to get the carcass out of the house with the garbage rather than having it in the bin for another week. I am pleased with how it turned out. It was very hard not to nibble the skin as I picked the meat off the bones.
QOTD: I saw Men in Black 3 in 3D opening weekend (May 25) and loved it. I am not really fond of 3D and felt the movie really didn't need it, but I enjoyed it just the same. I really enjoy the franchise for good, silly fun and the latest installment did not disappoint. Griff was a great character, I'd love to see more of him. And at home, DH and I watched the end of No Reservations on tv the other night. He's not into romantic comedy chick flicks, so I got a lot of eye rolling, but I enjoyed it.

ohhh yumm roast chicken sounds lovely dorothy!
QOTD: I went to see 'What to Expect when you're Expecting' a few nights ago. It was cute! Not great, not super well written - but cute. I enjoyed it overall. I thought the prosthetic bellies were amazing! They looked SO real!
Good morning! My magazine is published! Whew! We also have a board meeting today (I'm obvs not involved in that), but we all had to dress formal and it should be more casual, as it's our weekend here. (So yes, I'm whining abot having to wear heels, I'm switching into my flats as soon as the members leave!)
DH has some sort of man flu and hasn't gone to work in the last 2 days, yesterday I came home to find he had dragged the guest room mattress into the living room, pushed the coffee table out of way and him and the pup were having a ball watching sports all day. Awesome. So the weekend will be low key as we try to figure out what is wrong with him.
QOTD: We saw The Avengers, it was really, really good! I haven't really seen many of the "superhero" movies, but I really enjoyed it! And now I want to watch Iron Man!
Good morning. Lots of dissertation polishing to do today. I am dreading it. Tonight DH and I are going out for dinner with a group of international professors. It's organized by DH's work.
QOTD: We went to see On the Road last weekend. It is kind of long (for stylistic purposes I think) and a lot of the same. But it's a very beautiful film.
I think I might attempt to get laundry done today. At least wash it. Gotta set that bar high, reach for the stars and all...
I don't watch theater movies. Shorty me in land-o-giants means I can't see the screen. I did watch "Jelly" a couple nights ago. Had I not been hormonal it would have been trite and predictable. But since I am hormonal I did the ugly cry thing. lol
I saw "Adopt a Sailor" the night before that. Beautiful movie. I have no idea how old these movies even are. I figure I pay for the movie channel, might as well watch the movies. Been trying for 1 a night.
Morning! Today is a holiday and I'm hoping DH and I can clear out some of these boxes (as in take them downstairs where I won't see them....haha--some of them have offseason clothes so it's okay). I also want to hang some things in DD's room and clean the bathroom. That's a long list, but if I ever get off the couch I'll ge+t things accomplished!
Oh, and I can't move many boxes (frustrating for me and DH because he doesn't know what to move sometimes) because I found out yesterday that I'm pregnant. Due in February if all goes well.
QOTD: The last movie I watched at home was Friends With Benefits with Justin Timbelake and Mila Kunis. It was vey funny. I liked it.

Morning! We spent all day/night cleaning and organizing just our room last night( have to ffinish it then rest of house today) I'm mega worn out and trying to put off starting up again for a moment at least! Lol. Congrats popcorn! The only movies I have seen lately are old ones I've seen before. Just watched the Ninth Gate the other da actually, its older but amazingly I hadn't seen it so I guess that could count. I really wanna see SWatH. Also I just found out that there's gonna bbe a movie made from a book I readand enjoyed a while back...Abe Lincoln vampire hunter or ssomething along those lines..the book was good anyways.
I'm getting over a cold. Yesterday I was pretty much worthless but today I can get some stuff done, so that's nice.
QOTD: "Teeth"… I had seen a preview for it a long time ago and wasn't at all interested in seeing it, but then I read some reviews that made me decide to give it a try. It was very different from what I expected. Still not really my kind of movie, but entertaining anyway.
I´ve just finished painting the shelves to go in our closet. Hoping to give them a light sanding before I have to go get DD from the nanny lady. And then I´ve got laundry to hang up. So maybe the sanding will have to wait for tomorrow... decisions, decisions....
Today it is wet out!!! 50mm of rain forecast... great... (I cycle to work...). But my friend arrived home today for a visit from Oz with her 2 kids and I can't wait to catch up with them!!! Yay!!!
QOTD: I honestly can't remember!!! It could have been "The Help" a bit over a month ago... that was certainly the last one we rented and I don't think I've seen any since then. But I have to watch WE before next Tuesday for my bookclub (yes, someone came up with the great idea of watching a film and reading a book this month...) so I'll watch that on Sunday when dh is out watching soccer with his friends (Ireland play Croatia in the European Championships)
QOTD: I haven't been to the movies in ages. Last movies we rented were The Help (liked it though book was better), Time out (rubbish - could have done so much better), and some supposedly scary movies that didn't scare me at all. Can't even remember the titles.
Good morning! I went to a really mellow yoga class this morning which was just what I needed. I'm coming down with some kind of cold that is creating a lot of pressure in my ears.
QOTD: I saw Marion Cotillard & Mathias Schoenarts in "De Rouille et D'Os." These have to be the two most beautiful people I have ever seen on screen together. Did I mention this on the board already? I was completely transfixed by both of them. The movie itself was intense, as it's about a whale trainer who loses both legs in a freak accident. But if you can stand the emotions, it's good.
QOTD: We went to see On the Road last weekend. It is kind of long (for stylistic purposes I think) and a lot of the same. But it's a very beautiful film.
This is on my to-see list, but I always feel like I should try to see movies here I'd never have any chance of finding again once I am back in the U.S. I do love Walter Salles, though. Do you think it's a "watch it on the big screen" type of film or would it be just as good on video?

I think it would be better on video even since it's sooo long and not much happens. If you're at home you can do stuff in the mean time (several people walked out around the 2 hr mark). You'll get to see a LOT of Walter in this movie ;D

Congrats, popcorn!! When's your due date? If everything's on track, mine is Feb 16. After my progesterone and first hcg levels are looking ok (next hcg draw is today), I'm becoming cautiously optimistic.
QOTD: I saw What to Expect When You're Expecting a couple of weeks ago. There were a couple of scenes that made me cry, I think just emotional fallout from the miscarriage, and there were some really funny scenes. As Americaninoz said, it's not one that's going to turn into a classic, but it was a good way to spend an evening.
BFP1: DD born April 2011 at 34w1d via unplanned c/s due to HELLP, DVT 1 week PP

Morning ladies! We're still on vacay in the US but thought I'd check in! Last night we went to a baseball game and not sure what's on tap for tonight! We head back to Doha on Sat, and I'm ready to go!
QOTD: We saw the Avengers two weeks ago. It was a lot of fun!

Thank you. Congratulations to you. I hope everything goes smoothly and we get to enjoy being pregnant at the same time! And I know you can help me figure out the system here wheneve you get back. Let us know how your draws go today (you can PM me if you want. Oh, and I'm not sure about my due date really. My last period started April 26th or something like that, but I'm only 1-2 weeks post-ovulation according to the digi so my best guess is mid-February like you.
