listening to a time share presentation today.

do you guys ever do these? h and i like to do these, but we have to remain strong! we almost bought time share last time haha.

this time, we're supposedly getting a free vacation with round trip airfare and hotel...i don't really believe that. they did say they were giving us $100 gift card to a restaurant, and $25 gas gift card, too, so that'll be nice.

We did it once on our honeymoon to get the $100 gc since we stayed at my dad's timeshare. It was a timesuck and mindf*ck. We stayed strong, but once they knew we weren't going to buy, they got very rude and made us feel like crap for not signing up. Oh well.

Exactly the same.  We stayed at my mom's time share on our honeymoon and went to the presentation for some free stuff, and I really was thinking about it.  But it wasted most of our day and was so annoying and they just were not talking no for an answer.

Yeah, they're pretty ruthless. It's like they're trying to sell you a car you don't need. But what's funny is, I can actually inherit my dad's timeshares, so essentially, we don't need to buy.

yeah, they're intense..but h and i also find it slightly humorous at how hard they try.

I think it also depends on what company you have the sell with... ours was Wyndham.

ETA:  We had our honeymoon in Cabo and they are everywhere!  And tricky.  They are the grocery store posing as employees, helping you find things, pretending to be taxi drivers, it is crazy.  I caught on pretty quick and was like, do NOT talk to anyone!  My H is way too nice and everytime someone came up to him he'd talk to them, and it'd take at least 15 min to get away.  It's awful!

This was us in Las Vegas. We learned pretty quickly and just kept walking, not speaking to anyone, keeping our eyes down... I even had to resort to being rude so they'd leave us alone. It. Was. Awful.

yeah, i'm not counting on the vacation they promised us, but i'm hoping to at least get the $125 in gc's..it's also a date night for h and i since they said no kids haha. this is how exciting our lives are.

It was vacations international  Maybe you'll have better luck -- ours was at the Federal Way location. Or maybe it was Southcenter... i can't remember.  Not up north, though.

We stayed strong! Honestly it came out to a pretty good deal, but we went in knowing we were not going to buy anything and we stuck to it. They definitely did a lot of the usual sales techniques, and it was pretty hilarious when they did good cop/bad cop on us. Also when they were trying to use one of us against the other, that was fun. We made "friends" with an older couple (60's?) in the lobby, and we kept making eye contact telling each other to "stay strong". They DID guilt trip us, and we did feel a little bad about leavin bjl at home, and I will say that was our weakest point, but not to the point where we'd buy it.

We got our freebies, and I'm still sure the vacation is bogus- I read online that the fees associated with this company make you pay so many fees it's not worth it. We'll see! We got our restaurant gc and 25$ gas card, so I'm happy! Mostly we just went for the datenight/story to tell anyway.
