Damn Grease Stains!!

I know I can google this forever, but I still want to ask.

Have you successfully removed a grease stain from your clothes?

What about if the stain is old and probably set in there pretty good?

I got one on my khaki pants this morning and noticed it in the car on the way to work. I put some water on it, which dried. My CW told me I should not have put water on it because this probably set it. Ugh!

I once got olive oil while cooking on a shirt of my H's that I was wearing, and a coworker told me to use oven cleaner. When she was younger she'd been a server at a pizza place and she said she'd use it to get grease out of her uniforms. I never did try it, but she swore it worked great, which makes sense since it is a degreaser.

It says to use grease fighting dish soap (that would make sense), but she used it before washing and drying.
