Spoilers below for Game of Thrones book 3 (Storm of Swords) through Chapter 14. Also for the HBO show if you haven't seen it.
********************
I know this is a bit random, but I always enjoy reading people's reactions as they're going through a book, so I figured you ladies wouldn't mind! :-) I remember on the "old board" people would sometimes post about the book they were in the middle of (WIAR or something?).
Anyway, I just finished chapter 14 of Book 3. Robb has come back to Riverrun married to Jeyne (is that supposed to sound more like Jane or Jenny???). I'd spoiled myself a bit after watching season 2 of the HBO show, so I knew that Robb's love interest on the show wasn't a character from the books.
Also, I hate the Robb isn't a POV character! I want to know more of what's going on in his head. I adore him on the show, and I really liked his relationship with Talisa. I loved how he really fell in love with her and that part of what he loved was that she stood up to him and wasn't afraid of speaking her mind just because he styled himself King.
I haven't seen much of her, but so far I don't like this Jeyne person :-( Robb tells his mother that he just married her because they slept together and it was the honorable thing to do, and he mentions several times that she's sweet and will make a good wife. I guess he wouldn't really have had any better with a Frey girl, but I want him to have some passion.
I also really, really don't like the fact that Grey Wind distrusts this girl and her family.
Don't spoil me on what happens, but I'm really hoping something happens and she's not around forever!!

IMO You like Jeyne (like Jane - the pronunciation is clarified later with a different Jeyne) more and more as the novels proceed. I liked Jeyne's brothers too by the end of SoS. Book 3 has A LOT of twists and turns, and I recommend you be very careful about what you read or you're going to be spoiled.
I read this several years ago so I don't remember the details, but mostly I remember not liking Robb very much and therefore not really caring whether he was happily married or not. I wonder if I would feel differently if I watched the TV series - sounds like he might be more likeable there.
