My kid won't take them anymore. She had that terrible ear infection in October and was on like a million meds a day for like a month. Now, I can't get near her with even Tylenol or she freaks. I hid it in yogurt for a bit, but she caught on. Then I squirted it in a pouch...she figured that out too. It's so traumatizing to pin her down and drown her with them, but she has 4 more days of antibiotics...plus, she's still running a temp. I can sneak the advil into food because it isn't much, but anything larger dosed, I'm screwed!

I do it while she is nursing. She is happily sucking along and then-- BAM sneak attack syringe down her throat! -- and then I put the boob back in her mouth right away and she continues sucking and swallows the medicine.

I go with a popcycles method similar to Trudy's breastfeeding method, just have the meds ready and have LO sit on your lap to eat the popcycles... It is suppose to numb there taste buds per my pedi and Mom.
We found mini popcycles at Walmart which worked great for our last round of ear infections, it was the first time we had an issue.

This is brilliant. Honestly, I just pin Colin down and stick my pinky in his mouth and bam. He's used to it since he has gotten meds 2x's a day for the last 6 months but I haven't found a more effective way to make sure he gets it all. Does she puke when you pin her down?
she freaks out when I pin her down, then she always manages to spit most of it out, even when I fish hook her. I feel like I would be freaked out to ever take meds if I was gang tackled every time I needed them. I may have to try the boob sneak attack. Or popsicles. Everyone loves popsicles!

I'm impressed. This would go horribly wrong for me and I'd lose a nip or something.

HELP!!!
Maybe the kid has a bad association w/ the horrible ear pain. Poor thing. Have you tried sneaking it in a smoothie? The advil we have is a berry flavor so that might be easy to mask in a berry/yogurt/banana/almond milk smoothie or something yummy like that. Although M in particular doesn't seem to love cold stuff like this yet... I suppose you can always just not use ice and make it less cold!
I'm with steele on this one. Luckily we have only had to give him vit d drops so far but the boy loved them and wanted more. I hope he is the same with tylenol, etc if he ever needs them.
