boy moms - anyone CD with hydrocele?

Poor little DS has pretty severe hydrocele (swollen scrotum) that we're still waiting to go down on it's own or else he'll have to have a procedure to correct it.

I wanted to CD, but have just kept waiting - after meconium, after circ, after hydrocele... but I think we're ready now.

He has a cloth swim diaper that has elastic around the legs and it doesn't seem to have a snug fit around his thighs because of his large scrotum.

So, any suggestions for a CD that would work? I'd love to do AIOs for convenience but I'm thinking prefolds + covers is what will allow us to get a more personalized fit.

Would you still recommend a CD trial to see what works? There's a local CD store that I need to go check out, but I thought I'd ask here first so I might have an idea of what to look for.

I would try something with a double gusset for now. Either PFs and covers or fitteds and covers. Also, look for diapers with 2 rows of snaps so you can adjust for hip and thigh.
