It is very bland and boring right now. I will paint sometime down the road, but I need to get a shower curtain and trashcan, soap dish, etc, before we move. It is for 2 kids, boy and girl, age 3 and 5. I don't want it to be too little-kid-ish because I don't want them to outgrow it fast. At the same time, I don't want it to be completely adult.
I bought this from Target's website, and when it came it looked cheap and crappy:
I would rather have a plastic one bc then I won't have to mess with a liner, and they don't take showers anywa, it will only be used for that when we have guests. But feel free to convince me that fabric is the way to go.
ETA: the lovely brass towel rack over the toilet will probably go, I have no idea what I will put there- some kind of cupboard and/or towel bar I imagine. Could be some fun funky color to go with the shower curtain. Feel free to suggest.

Personally, I'd go with a fabric shower curtain. They just look so much nicer. And I'd do some bold color to bring a lot of color into the room. Maybe a large stripe? Then choose towels based on the colors in the shower curtain.

Is there anywhere that has a lot of shower curtains in stock? Target has like 13 pages of them online, and only had 20 or so in stock. BB&B?
I can't remember about the hand towel bar. I am guessing I need to put one above the toilet, and then shelves above that. I am trying to envision when DD is a teenager- what is going to be the best for storing teenage girl beauty products to keep the room from looking like a bomb went off? Shelves with baskets is a good idea bc I could replace to baskets to change up the colors if I ever wanted to.
Yes BB&B has a lot of shower curtains in stock. I would do something fun a bold with a warm tone to it to go with the vanity. A print that isn't to little kidish so it will work when they are teenagers. Like one of these:
All from BB&B. Fabric ones are just so much nicer and last a lot longer. I'm a big fan of the washable fabric liners that are waterproof as well. Just toss them in the washer when they are cruddy instead of buying a new one. No need to be filling landfills with senseless plastic waste.
I also love our hooks for towels we put in the future kids bathroom. So easy to grab and hang back up and you can fit a lot more towels in the same space as one towel bar.
I'd put a towel ring on the wall next to the vanity or a towel bar over the toilet. Then a glass shelf or a piece of artwork over the toilet as well.

The vanity is crappy. It has no drawers, just cupboards. I am going to put some aftermarket slide out drawers in it, I think. I love that paisley shower curtain FoxInFiji.

Yes I like that one a lot too. It's even prettier in person. I almost got it for our master bathroom but it didn't go with the wall color we had just painted in there.
Our old vanities didn't have drawers either. I bought some nice wire mesh drawer pull outs from BB&B as well.
