So last night I went to the gym and left H in charge of putting the kids to bed. 2 hours later, I came home to a house in darkness, both kids asleep and H napping on the couch. Every room in the house I found a trail of mess ( toys, books ) everywhere. H is an awesome dad and I love him to death and I'm very grateful that he doesn't complain about staying with the kids at home while I do my own stuff, but really? It would only take 5-10 mins to clean up, plus DD1 is at an age now where you can get her to put away her toys. Most of the time I overlook the mess but some days ( when I'm tired and cranky ), it's annoying.
Omg. Ok. I'm going to vent but no one ever repeat a word of this bc my h is awesome and he works his ASS off so I can take care of our baby. BUT. He's gone 14 hours some days. I have a cranky baby all to myself who rarely naps. Plus I do all the house stuff and I've finally started managing it pretty well. He gets home, baby is sleeping, house is clean and I'm exhausted. And he has a beer. Cap there, bottle opener over there, empty bottle, check! Glass in the end table, freshly dirtied plates in the sink. Work pants and socks on the floor, receipts on the dresser, omg! I love him but I need to work on him a little still.

Yep, my H leaves a trail behind him as soon as he walks in the door, is very good at putting things down twelve inches from where they actually go, leaves cabinets and drawers open, forgets to put stuff back in the fridge after making himself something to eat, and thinks dishes magically wash themselves, but he is a hard worker and a great dad and awesome husband, so I don't usually get on him too much about it. I'm a very tidy person so I am constantly picking up after him and the kids. When I'm not around to do it, I always come home to a big mess. But it seems like nothing compared to when his mom watches the kids...it looks like a tornado hit the house every time. I see where he gets it from

This makes me laugh. MH works his ass off as well, sometimes 12-14hr days. I am thankful to him that he is such a hard worker and wonderful dad & husband but he is everything you mentioned above as well. Walks in the door, receipts and boogie tissues go on the entertainment cabinet, pile of clothes on the floor (6 inches from the hamper) and goes straight into the bathroom to sit there for 30+ mins. If by chance his clothes make it in hamper, his belt is on the floor, if hes not wearing it I guess its place is on the floor. If I ask him for a few minutes to play with Lila so that I can get something done, HE is the one who pulls ALL of her toys out. The toys that I just spent 20 minutes organizing, putting everything back together and placing it where it goes. I swear between the two of them I am going to become an alcoholic. lol

Luis does this. WTF. It's right there! A friend of mine and I decided there is a force feild around the hamper that is the cause fo this phenomenen.

Marlon has only had Kennedy on his own twice and he never stays home with her. But he will totally go to sleep rather than pick up. He's not a slob, and will be the first to complain that the house is a mess, but he's also the first to leave a sink full of dishes. It drives me crazy. Also, when Kennedy naps or goes to bed, that's his time to watch TV. Whereas, it's always my time to cook, clean, do laundry, etc. I love him dearly, he's a great husband and father. I appreciate that he works so hard at his job so I can stay hoe. But I would love more help around the house.
