I need a good smoke eye tutorial

I suck at applying eye makeup. My everyday look is fine - liner plus a simple eyeshadow - but I need help doing something more dramatic for going out/special events. I end up looking like I played with my moms makeup bag lol.

Any links to good tutorials? Product suggestions are also appreciated. I currently have the original naked pallete and have UD pencils. Fwiw, I am white with brown hair/brown eyes.
