Something similar to the top one is "only $800" at Costco right now...we're getting G some art supplies for her birthday (crayons and sidewalk chalk, I think) .
hubby says I'm not allowed to buy "any more big plastic contraptions"
he claims he will build her a swing set himself when she's older and can enjoy it. But what am I supposed to buy her NOW for her birthday if I'm not to buy any "plastic crap" and we can't afford to buy nice crap? sigh

lol, NO WAY Linus would even come close to using the top one right now turning 2 if it makes you feel any better! Definitely not for this 2 yr old klutz. Fiona got a little slide (taller than that one, but still a "beginner slide") and he can BARELY scramble up and down it.
Do we have the same husband? Mine thinks he will be building (with semi-professional help)something like that for A too. I keep trying to convince him that A will have as much fun with a simple swing set so we will see.
He (with help!) made this sandbox for A's birthday - it is a 5 ft square and I think it will be great - the sand will be in it on Friday. The canopy is great as it will keep the sun off and then will be lowered to keep the animals out when its not in use.

We were able to get this swing set for Micah and instead of the trapeze bar, installed an infant seat. He goes nuts for it. He loves to push the swings by himself. He loves the slide. The only thing he doesn't use is the teeter totter.
My parents have a hand-me-down of this slide, and he loves that, too!
I totally laughed at that because thats me. I would love to give Camden these big awesome things, but sadly.. cant afford it. So he gets the cheaper, way smaller version.
