I just signed up for this because I saw it down below.
How goes viggle know how long you watch a certain show? It says that you get points based on how many minutes you watch. Do I need to leave the app "on", or can I just keep in running in the background?
Is anyone having problems with the audio not recognizing a show? I downloaded viggle this morning and am watching DVR'd shows but it hasn't been able to recognize any of them. I keep getting a background noise error and can't look shows up manually because they're not currently playing.

It won't let you check into DVR'd shows :-( Otherwise I would make a fortune. :-) It has to be live TV. I do what the pp does; I check in all the time to high point shows, and then just switch the channel. :-)

I have gotten points for DVR'd shows. I usually watch the show within the next day or two, so maybe that's the issue.

So this is totally unethical probably but I'm out and about a lot. I downloaded another app called Peel that is basically a TV guide (it searches for your network so you know which shows are actually on in your area) and when I'm out and about, I will go to the Peel app, find out what is on TV currently that is high points, and then manually check in. Voila! Points! This way I can literally earn points whenever, and wherever. The Peel app is free too.
anyone know if you can get points from watching shows from on demand?
You can in theory, but it doesn't always work. It just depends on if the app recognizes the show. (You can only manually check in for live TV.) I've had better luck with DVR and On Demand if I remember to check in during the opening theme song (if there is one).
How can you tell which one is bonus? I just dl the beta for android and I am trying to figure that out.
I just figure this out! When you look at "featured shows" you have to scroll right and left. I was thinking there was only one featured show (SNL) at a time. But if you scroll, you can find others and bonus commercials.
I turn the volume down on my phone and just clicked on every commercial.
Also - I just got a check in bonus for watching this week's Modern Family on DVR. 30 points with a 150 pt bonus. So you do get points for DVR, and it doesn't even have to be within 24 hours! Woo!
