My washer died, and it's taking my checking account down with it

On the bright side, I picked out a shiny new fancy machine that is being delivered on Saturday. I'm a little scared to pull the old washer out and clean behind/under it. I haven't done it since we moved in 3 years ago. Oops.

Boo for a dead washer. But yay for a shiny new one! I'm scared of the dust bunnies behind ours. Our washer/dryer are stacked in a closet so there's no good way of cleaning behind them.

I pulled out the stove a few weeks ago and cleaned behind that. I don't think I'd ever done it. I need to do the fridge but I can't move it.
Yeah for a shiny new machine. I'm jealous. Ours our the most basic models.

I clean behind our other appliances, but our washer/dryer are under a counter and it's too hard to move them. Laziness may also be a factor.

I have never done it, and I have no plans to do it in the future.

This post made me, make H pull them out over the weekend. We found a dish towel, H's polo shirt, and socks we have been missing. On the list of items we weren't missing... a marker, coins, dust bunnies, and mold! We bleached the shit out of the laundry area. We have been here almost 2 years and have not pulled anything out. :shudders:

Yikes at the mold!

The first thing MH said was, "hey! I've been looking for that belt". Oddly, everything I found was his from his bad habit of emptying his pockets onto the top of the washer instead of the counter. He won't be able to do that on the new washer so hopefully things will be better.

The mucky dust paste dried to the floor will probably continue.
