I LOVE granite however the granite the previous owners picked out doesn't go with the floor at all. No idea what they were thinking... I'd say it was on crazy sale but I've seen the receipts and it wasn't. The floor is terracotta and is in the entry/2 hallways/kitchen/dining. Replacing it would be a huge pain and quite costly... plus I like the tile, the granite is ok. I'm wondering if it is possible to sell the granite that is in the kitchen and then use that $ to get new countertops. If so, where/how would I sell it and for what price?
Theoretically you probably could, but the chances of it fitting exactly right in another person's house aren't great. Countertops are fabricated custom for each kitchen/bathroom.
People here buy good shape countertops all the time for garages, bar areas, laundry rooms, to recut for a table or vanity top etc.
However, it does sell dirt cheap. Recuts are expensive and no area is the same so it's not like it's going to fit. So you can totally do it but it won't add much to your fund.
